Founded in 1986, Hillsdale Gymnastics, Dance & Cheer Center was the result of a need for a gymnastics facility in Hillsdale County. During her sophomore year at Hillsdale College, Jill opened the center while completing her B.A. degrees in Elementary Education and Physical Education. She also holds a Masters of Science degree in Educational Administration. The dance studio was added in 2003, cheer in 2007, and jungle ninja boys program in 2010. We now have two facilities for both recreational and competitive classes. Jill has a proven track record as a gymnastics and cheer coach with many State and National Champions to her credit at both the high school and collegiate level. She was named Coach of the Decade in 2009.
Jill Hardway is a graduate of Hillsdale College and during that time began this business. Jill has a B.A. in Elementary Education and Physical Education. This dual degree helped her develop unique ideas for teaching preschoolers and is respected as one of the best. Jill completed her Master's Degree in Educational Administraion in 2008. She was one of the first to be KAT certified, and PDP level 1 & 2 certified. She has been a State speaker for Region 5 Congress as well.
In past years she coached high school gymnastics and was a certified judge. She coached National and High School Champions, Kara Cretsinger, and Courtney Shaneour, who both began their gymnastics careers with HGC at the age of five. She co-coached the Hillsdale College Cheer & Dance team to two National. The Dance studio was added in 2003, and the Cheer program in 2007. Jill married Bob in 1991, and has two sons, Zachary and Brooks.
From the beginning, HGC has taken a small gymnastics dream and molded it into a well rounded medium in which to explore and development gross and fine motor movement activities and have fun doing it. Using the same philosophy, we advanced the dream by adding dance and cheerleading to our family. Our program facilitates optimum movement learning in a rich and colorful environment. The reality of a quality program, state of the art equipment and staff that is second to none, makes our organization one of the best.
